I had a blast shooting Scott and Ashlynn’s wedding near Austin, Texas. They were a DREAM couple– insanely in love, and so chill. They took all the curveballs thrown at them with grace and pivoted when necessary.
The best thing about the day is that they were fully present. They weren’t caught up in making all of the details of the day perfect. They had delegated all of their tasks and were at ease knowing the day would end perfectly— as Mr. and Mrs. Coleman!
The Beginning
Before we get into the big day, let’s rewind a little bit. I was lucky enough to enter into their story when Scott hired me to photograph their proposal. I remember it being the easiest photoshoot ever because they were so over-the-moon for the occasion.
It was like I wasn’t there and I was able to capture some beautiful, genuine images of their love and relationship. We also had a fun engagement session at the local fair and that’s where I became familiar with their sweet and playful personalities.
The Wedding
On the day of their wedding, it was freezing outside! Originally, they planned to marry on a ranch just outside of Austin, Texas. In the end, they made the hard decision to move their wedding indoors to ensure their grandparents and the children invited would be comfortable. During the ceremony, there wasn’t a dry in the room, including the groom’s!
After the ceremony, we headed outside for a few minutes to get some portraits of the two of them. It was cold, but you can hardly tell from the pictures. Their love for each other is so electric and you can definitely tell from their images.
From the cake-cutting to tearing it up on the dance floor, they were non-stop fun and were constantly seeking each other out (the best)!
Finally, when it came time for the sparkler exit…it almost didn’t happen. There were some difficulties lighting the sparklers, but their friends didn’t give up! The sparklers eventually lit and they walked through a tunnel of light and cheering from their friends and family.
Documenting Scott and Ashlynn’s wedding in Austin, Texas was such a privilege and when I look back at their photos I still have a huge smile on my face and even get a little teary-eyed.
